July 6, 2005 -- Economic Momentum Commission To Hold 1st Meeting Friday, July 8
The Economic Momentum Commission, a 30-member panel of private sector and public leaders whose formation was announced last month by Gov. Linda Lingle, will hold its initial organizational meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 8, at the Board Room, 30th Floor, First Hawaiian Center.

Purpose of meeting:  To create a committee structure and approve a timeline and process for generating ideas and soliciting public input.

The goal of the commission, chaired by First Hawaiian Bank CEO Don Horner, is to generate practical ideas to perpetuate Hawaii's economic vitality over the long term, and enhance quality of life.

Enterprise Honolulu, a non-profit economic development organization funded by Oahu's private sector, is providing fiscal and logistical coordination and support for the work of the Commission.
